Well, there is one other option to make easier use of this awesome deck though...

Get the DCI from modifry and you can press CH and the "+/-" switch on the dash controls to scroll through the presets. Another bonus is that the wired version of the DCI will work so you don't need the ugly iR eye above the radio.

I am going to order mine soon.

Thanks for the reply about the HU fitting in behind the radio door.

I am still indecisive in regards to getting the 9886 or X100. Price is comparable, so I'm not basing it on that. I don't own an IPOD, but if I did get the X100, I would want a 160GB.

I'm actually pretty sick of juggling CD's, and its more of a pita in an S2000 reaching in the compartments.

I have the X100 and I love it, I have owned the 9856 and 9884 and 9886 in the last 6 months and as far as IPOD control none of them are as easy to use as the X100. I even like the preset controls. But to each their own. The door does come in slight contact with the knob, but nothing major.

you can push the head unit in just a bit more. I am not even close to touching the dial with the door.

One other question... do the convenient dash-mounted buttons on the left side of the steering wheel work with this head unit?

Thanks!

They work with the Modifry DCI. And then you get some extra use out of them too with dual push functions.

Awesome, thanks Rex. I hate driving w/o my ipod!

I'll check out the modifry site for the added functions. Do you know if the Crutchfield kit supports the buttons? They will ship the kit free with the unit.
