No, the crutchfield kit is just to hook it up to power etc.. and the stock speakers.

The modifry kit plugs into the remote jack in the back of the unit or you can use the iR eye.

I want to say I just installed this today and it's awesome. I installed it with Modifry's DCI and the plug-and-play harness. I spent more time being careful taking the radio door off than anything else. The harness plugged right in and the SCV was simple since I had already done the modification for 'top down while moving'. The door closes just fine with no clearance issues. The little pouch on the passenger side fits my iPod and USB cable perfectly. You can't even see that anythings in there (good for those times I leave the top down when going into a store).

It does have the problem with the dimmer disabling the DCI, but I knew that ahead of time. It's not so bright that it's blinding, so I think I can live without the dimmer. I seriously can't believe I waited this long to upgrade from the stock stereo!

Just installed the X001 with the Modifry DCI and it works great! One weird thing, the "CH" dash button doesn't do squat, but the "audio control" button will change songs. If you hold it down, it will change source from FM to USB to ipod, etc. All other functions, even mute, work perfectly.

I installed an x100 last weekend (MY04). The door closes but does impact the knob a bit when closing or pushing to open. I wish it were recessed a fraction of an inch more and all would be perfect. All things considered, it is well worth the upgrade over stock. Seeing others with no issues, I wonder if there are slight differences between the doors between model years.

Another thumbs up for the Modifry's DCI, wiring harness, and Speed Control Volume! This is an absolute improvement over the stock set up.

There's a little play in the brackets that you take off the sides of the stock head unit. Make sure they are pulled all the way forward before tightening the screws into the side of the Alpine.

Thanks for the tip... I'll give it a try next time I have time to pull it out... I forgot to write down the serial number any way.

ok Guys, i'm puzzled now, the Modifry site states that currently there is an issue with the DCI and the Alpine X100 more than the dimmer problem.

I can see here nearly everyone installed it and it works...

Please confirm that the Modifry DCI works fine with Apline X100.

Thanks
