Default Alpine KCE-400BT or alternative?

So I recently decided to upgrade my stereo a bit (Modifry DCI, and an Alpine KCE-400BT bluetooth adapter for the CDA-105 that I've got in there), but no one seems to sell it anymore. I'm currently trying to get one on ebay, but so far no luck.

Does anyone know where you an get one of these stateside? I see them in european stores a lot, but no where over here. Alternatively, did they release a new replacement for it?

I asked Alpine support, but they just kept telling me to buy the 250BT (which is not the same; it works, but does not support Bluetooth Audio, only phone stuff).

Anyone know a reputable place that might have these in stock or if there's something else that will work which I can get (I'll put a WTB in the appropriate forums, but I'd rather find one from a retailer or online used parts vendor if possible).

Lately I've also been looking into newer head units. Although I love my alpine 9886, lack of bluetooth features just isn't cutting it well with today's smartphones. I've been on eBay trying to also find the kce400bt but those seem to be horribly expensive.

In your case, your ideal option is to just get rid of your cda-105 and pick up the newer cde-143bt. Those have all the bluetooth features your looking for, and is priced relatively well. I believe you can still sell off your cda-105 for a decent amount as well.

Let us know what you end up doing.

I'm afraid to say I gave in and just paid too much for a used receiver on ebay last night (first time I've managed to get one; normally there are a bunch of people bidding on them)... I didn't realize that a newer head unit with bluetooth could be had for cheaper than I paid for the BT unit for mine... oh well; I've been putting off buying one for ages because I didn't want to pay near the new price (or more) for a used one.

You're definitely right though; a newer HU with Bluetooth built in would have been the best way to go (wish I'd thought of it). ~$100 on Amazon for a good one.

If anyone knows where you can just buy one of these, that may still be helpful for other users though.

On the plus side, I got my Modifry DCI today and installed it. It's so nice to have the dash controls working again! I know it sounds a bit pricy just for a volume / channel changer button, but it's driven me nuts ever since I got the car that they weren't working!

Does your HU use the speed/volume control wire on the Modifry DCI?

Sure does; works really well at level 6 or so.

Much of a hassle getting to the wire?

No; there's a wire that runs to the speed sensor under the passenger side dash panel (hooked to the soft top mechanism). I cut it and grounded the top end before spliced the stereo speed sensor in instead of just using a wire tap; this way stereo speed control works and I can open the top while moving.
