Cool. Let's see if you blow a fuse. Haven't looked at the fuse the HU is on but Alpine says 15A is required for the KTP-445 and IIRC most Honda's have 10A on that circuit. I'm shopping Crutchfield too. Just ordered some Polk Mobile Monitor MM6501s for starters. Hope they fit. I was going to go with the CDA-117 too, but noticed it doesn't have orange illumination to match the S2K's dash lights, plus if I want to go the Alpine Imprint route it requires an external Imprint processor. The Alpine CDA-9887 was $399.99 but is now $50 less than the CDA-117, has orange illumination and Imprint processor built in (FYI).

Yeah...I hear ya, I checked the HU fuse before ordering; the S2K uses a 15A fuse.

I did consider the 9887 (since the price drop) but I wanted a built-in USB port (9887 requires add'l iPod adapter and won't play USB flash drivers) and I liked the iPod interface/control of the 117 better. The Imprint compatability wasn't a huge factor for me, so I didn't really care about it.

On that note though (for anyone else who's researching), you can buy the Imprint kit for the 117 for $180 ($150+$30), whereas the Imprint kit for the 9887 is $50 to "rent" it from Crutchfield (or free if you know someone).

My DB6501 were the maximum amount you could fit in the stock baskets without cutting out the back, the magnets were just barely touching. I think the top-mount depth for these is 1 11/16" but I forget exactly.

Not really sure...does it work fine without the power-pack (i.e. just HU and DCI)?

If the the power pack is not plugged in and its just the harness and the dci it works the radio tuner works (as well as the rest of the inputs). If the power pack is connected all inputs work but the radio tuner. If its on the radio tuner no sound at all almost like the HU is off not even speaker hiss when I turn all the way 2 35.

I am looking at the cad 105 and the 445 amp with Polk db6501. Just checking if the mode problems above were resolved re: the modifry dci. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Is there any way to hack in and bridge this thing? 90x2 would power a nice set of components....
Late answer, but technically yes it is bridgeable and 2 ohm stable, but not suggested by Alpine.

I emailed Bob @ modify, and his response was the Alpine KTP-445 is not compatible with the Alpine PnP DCI for whatever reason.

Did he mention why?

I was also thinking of getting the KTP445 for my CDA105 + modifry DCI + DB6501's
