alpine type-r 17s
Hey I bought some component speakers. I've searched and checked the how to thread but I'm still a little confused on how to connect the crossovers. I have some alpine spr-17s. My h/u is a pioneer deh-5901B. Well anyways the crossover has six screws. 2 listed at +in-, 2 at +WF-, and the last two at +TW-. What set of wires do I need and how do I go about connecting the crossover? Also on the crossovers there's a TW Level guessing that stands for tweeters. There's a 0dB and -3 through -8dB. I mostly listen to hip hop r&b and rock.
Wiring crossovers is VERY simple. + represents "positive" and - represents "negative", just match everything up accordingly.
IN +- is your input from your headunit, positive and negative. The WF +- is for your woofer, positive and neg and the TW +- is for the tweeter pos and neg. Simple.
Now for your 0db, -3--8db that sets the attenuation of your tweeter. In other words, it turns it down. If you feel your tweeter is too loud/harsh, you can set it to -3db and try that. If you still feel it's too much, you can turn it down more and more until you like it. If you like it at -0db, then keep it there.
You're done. Simple as that.
