I installed my Kinetic alphasonik setup about 3 months ago (Love it) and it was fine. So I had to screw it up by wrecking the car and while at the body shop they had to break the fender welds and weld a new one on. So I get it back, drop the sub back in, re-wire the amps, good to go with the car off, turn it on to leave and I about fell out of my seat when that noise came on!
I have pm'd John a few times and he has given me some pointers as to what Im looking for. I checked my ground in the back (Pictured) and have removed and sanded it and reapplied, still the noise continues. The humm increases with RPM's and is not present with the engine off. Checked RCA's and for the record, they are running down the passenger side of the car while the power runs down the drivers side. I am using kunknconceptz wiring in addition to a pioneer DEH-9800BT and Polk Audio db6500 components.
So I was told to look for a ground loop isolator or noise filters (which through searching I have found this may not be worth it) and that would fix the problem. So I call around looking for the isolator and find one at best buy, I drive up there (with no radio :bangshead: ) and go into the installation bay and the guy pulls one off the shelf for me. For sh!tz and giggles, I present this question to him and he takes a look, and says the weld may not be getting a good enough contact to the car and that I should drill into the metal up further (Arrowed in picture)
Is he right? Should I drill a new ground there? Or go with the Loop Isolator? Any help is appreciated!

There was overspray, so I took the ground off, sanded it and put it back on. I only sanded by hand though, I need a dremel to really grind it down I guess
Try a different ground location. Preferably away from where the body shop did their work.
If that doesn't work, try grounding to the battery and see if that gets rid of the noise. And if that doesn't work, it could be your alternator. I've read some electronics will get screwed up when welding occurs if they are not disconnected. Of course the article was on welding on airplanes but I assume the same can apply for cars?
You didn't run the RCA's next to the power wire, did you? Those should be as far apart as possible, at least 1/2 the width of the car (RCA's down center console, and power down passenger side, etc.).
