Default Amp..

I want to put my AMP in my spare tire like DJ Cube and still have the use of my spare if needed. So what amp will be the best for the setup I'm looking for? I'm going to be running Diamond Components s600s and rears. Thanks in advance.

I would recommend a Blaupunkt PA4100 (4x100W) or a Memphis ST3004 (4x75W). Both are very small, cool-running amps that will serve you well. My PA4100 is mounted under my passenger seat and tested at an average of 115W per channel. Either of those amps are around $300 or so. Another option, depending on your headunit is to amp the doors, and run the rears off of the HU. In that case, you only need a 2-channel amp: Blau PA2100 (2x100W) = $180, Blau PA2150 (2x150W) = $240, or a Memphis ST200 (2x100W).

I have a Pioneer Premier DEH-740mp. Will a JL 300/4 fit in the spare tire?

I might install the amp under the seat as well for better venting. I'm open to suggestion, I just want things hidden and not in the view when I open up my trunk. Thanks for the recommendations on the AMP, going to see how much I can get them from my vendor.

Keep the postin.

Another advandage to the Blaupunkt PA series is that all the connections (speaker wires, power, etc) are made to plastic connectors that then plug into the side of the amp. This could come in handy if you have to quickly disconnect everything to get the spare out. Just a thought...

I'm using an Alpine CDA-7995. I don't have any subs right now -- just a set of Adire Audio Koda's in the doors. Once they go on sale (pre-order), I am going to order an elemental designs e8A -- http://www.edesignaudio.com/ep/aseries.htm

Here's the pics of my setup. I'm running a PPI 2240, and I still have a bit of room. I'm using 5/8" MDF (particle board) as a base with a 1/2" riser, so if you want a taller amp, there is still some room to play with. The risers are to allow some airflow underneath the amp. The only concern with my setup is that I will overheat the amp on 90+ degree days after a couple hours of use. I purchased a 12V computer case fan to help ventilate the amp, but just haven't gotten around to installing it yet. After all, it's winter, and the amp only overheats on very hot days.

Since I won't be able to install the amp like DJ Cube, I'm thinking about installing a JL 300/4 under my seat or the passenger, which is better the passenger or the driver?

I am considering it. I am waiting on the full spec sheet for the e8A to see if the WLAURENT box will accomodate their depth. If not, I'll make a knock-off of it with more depth.
