The dimensions for the JL 300/4 are: 13.4"L x 9.25"W x 2.36"H. My gut feel tells me that if it fits, it will be very tight. You will be very close on both width and height. I will try to make a template and test this weekend when I have my passenger seat out.

Thanks for the info! I hadn't found those specs before. Looks like it will fit in your enclosure (assuming the HX2 fits). Worst case is another 3/4 inch of MDF could be scabbed onto the front and the whole thing re-skinned to make some extra depth. Now I just have to model an 8a in that enclosure to see that kind of power it will handle.

If you could add the spacer and an extra baffle to the front to make the woofer flush-'ish' to the front of the enclosure, I'd do that in a heartbeat -- even if it's a few bucks more.

Not a problem - but would need the sub at my shop to ensure that the quality in fitment.

SpEeDxXxRaCeR, I just got finished tracing an engine whine/interference problem and had my seats out. I doubt the JL 300/4 will fit under the passenger seat. It *may* fit under the driver's seat, as there is a little more side-to-side room there. I am more worried about the height of that amp though. It would be a very tight fit, and if you are worried about scratching up your amp, then I would recommend against it. My Blaupunkt is 1/2 inch thinner and the seat clears it fine, but I think it's too close to call on the JL.

bumpity...

i am looking into the e8A myself and, i remembered this thread, so i went back and searched it out...

then i noticed on the Elemental Design's spec page that it looks like the e8A's mounting depth has changed (?)... 128mm => 5.04 inches

will this still fit?

i've been doing some stalling on my purchase until there was some feedback out about it... but if it's not a fit, then i'll discard the option...

I'm having my e8A shipped directly to WLAURENT -- I'll let him figure out how to make it fit Unfortunately, it looks like it will be another couple of weeks before Elemental has them ready to ship...
