I mounted my amp in the trunk and on hot days [90+] it will kick off as it gets too hot. Anyone else have this problem?
During these HOT summer months, I've noticed the trunk stores heat nicely.
I've run my system continously for a 6 hour ride a couple of times and haven't experienced any over heating from where I have it mounted. I do top down exclusively though so I get alot of airflow in the cabin.
I have no amp yet, but this is designed to accomodate a Zapco C2K 2.5X or 6.0X. One of the fans blows out and one sucks in. My PG Ti Comp Elite crossover mounts to the underside and fits in the center space of the foam tool holder. The binding posts are for passing the signal through.
Damn, I didn't notice until I took these pictures just now that my grills are cut different directions. I'll have to fix that.

i had my 2 amps installed by a local stereo shop. they are rather large eclipse amps, roughly 1 sq ft each. we ditched the spare and they had to be stacked one on top of the other on the spare tire shelf. they commonly overheat after being played for a few hours, so i have an appointment this week for them to install fans. they are putting in squirrel cage fans, which are like miniatures of the kind of fan that is in a home central air unit. they demonstrated these in the store, and they blow a lot of air for their size. once i get them installed i will take some pics.
