Default Amp power cable question

Where is the best place to take the amp power cable from the battery through the firewall?

do a search...maybe "firewall". you should find some detailed instructions. In short, remove the battery and you will see a rubber grommet going thru the firewall close to the battery base. It will have black tape around it and a bunch of wires about the size of your index finger. I was able to pull back the tape to expose the end of the grommet to feed the wire thru...you don't want to pierce the rubber...just need to pull the tape back 1/2" or so. I used a industrial size zip tie with the with the wire securely taped to it....go from engine bay to inside the cabin in direction...also sprayed with a soap suds solution to help move it through. It is a fairly tight fit, but once you get the rubber loosened up a bid, it should be no problem. Once it is thru the grommet,re-tape and you are set.

Depends on the size wire you're using. For 8 gauge the under-battery hole works just fine. I actually ended up getting 2 gauge through there, but in a manner that I would call "grommet rape".

Jerrypeterson ran aught (0 gauge) along the firewall and under a more accomodating hole under the master cylinder. If I did my install over again I'd do that for 0, 2, and probably 4 gauge power wire.

Good luck!

Thanks KaCee and jzr I will take a closer look this weekend and decide which is the best route.
