I just got a MUCH bigger amp and I think it would be best to mount it in the spare tire area. How have you guys done this? Are you screwing into the frame or you using a piece of wood and bolting down with the original spare tire holder or what?
Any help is appreciated! Pics would be even better!

I'm looking for a place to host my pics. As soon as i can find a place, i'll post mine with that set up. I actually fit 2 amps in there. A JL 300/2 and a JL 500/1. I didn't do the install my self, but it is very clean.

There's also another guy (can't remember who) that has a real slick set-up. He has his amp on a slide-out drawer. When search is working again, try searching "amp AND drawer".
I have a simple bracket with a wing-nut supporting it at the top with a piano hinge at the bottom. Stays solidly in place.

mine too is in the spare area, i fit 2 amps in there and xovers. I need constant access for testing so its more utility not show (dont see it anyway). you have to be mindful of the amp size. I can't bolt to the tire hole, but i have brackets to other bolts. Be sure to vent.
If you have a bay area sub you might as well toss the spare and mount the amp in the spare area. If you get a flat how will carry it anyway. I'm switching to fun flats when the 02s wear out anyway.
