Default Any one do a remote start?

I recently bought a remote start system for my car i bought the DEI 555h immobilizer bypass anyone know how this goes into s2k? There are 2 different ways to wire this up. I called DEI and they say it works on all Honda immobilizers but s2k isnt listed. My thought is because the car only comes in stick they dont want to list it.

If the 555 is the one that "learns" your key-code and does not require you to leave a key in the car - then NO, it does not work with the S2000. At least it didn't work on my car when I tested one about 4 years ago.

Maybe DEI doesn't think the S2000 is a Honda?*

*My most interesting gas station quote by somebody who has no clue what I'm driving:
Goober - "That's one of them new Porches, ain't it?"
Me - "Uhh, sure"
Goober - "Yup, I can spot an Italian car a mile away"

The newer model does work. I have installed on my car, but taking it out after starting on 1st gear with the remote start. I DO NOT RECOMMEND remote start........ You can say you won't forget all you want but after a few late nights, I just "forgot" and paid to repair the front bumper twice. Even with e-brake up, it doesn't help at all.......

Compustar.org said they are manual compatible and you have to do a series of steps before you can do remote start next.

8. I have a manual transmission. How do I set my vehicle up to remote start?

A: You have to set reservation mode. Reservation involves leaving your gear in neutral. You must set your e-brake and a few seconds later remove the vehicle'skey from the ignition. Your vehicle will remain running until you exit your vehicle and close all doors. The motor will shut down and your remote will receive a page back (2-Way remote) and lock and arm the system.

Oh, cool. Maybe I'll buy one of the newer ones to try and I can get my valet key back from where it's hidden away in some disgustingly inaccessible place.

There are ways to make remote start on a manual transmission relatively safe. I've been using mine for years but then I added a neutral switch, second parking brake switch, and a speed signal shutdown, making it pretty unlikely the car could ever move when remote started. See here for details.
