Anybody made a sub enclosure for the spare tire?
I've been looking at the stealthbox and wlaurent's custom 8" enclosure, but neither is exactly what I would want, i.e., not losing trunk space and not giving up my ability to change a flat tire. If I got a stealthbox, I would be screwed if I got a flat tire. If I got wlaurent's enclosure, I would have to remove it every time I put my guitar in the trunk. To me, the second option is preferable to the first. Anyway, wouldn't the well in the spare tire be big enough for an 8" sub? It would be like wlaurent's, but even closer to the cabin. Another idea would be to make a 8" stealthbox-like enclosure that is only as big as the tool-holder, not the whole well. That way, I wouldn't be screwed w/ a flat tire; the sub enclosure would go where the tools go during a flat tire situation, i.e., in the spare tire area. How much would it cost to have any of these custom made?

Yeah, I started to think about that, after I wrote it. Maybe I was thinking about a bass. I need to try both, to see what in the world I was talking about. Anyway, today I took my car to a car audio place, and told them to make me an 8" enclosure to fit where the foam tool box is (like a mini stealthbox). We'll see how it turns out.
