Default Think its possible to build a sub in the spare tire well??

Anyone tried building one there??I would think a 8" or a shallow 10" would work facing up. Also, does someone have exact dimension for the amp rack that would go there. I'm thinking I can base the dimension on that and build sub box from there. Finishing by building a substitute tire hump panel. I think I've seen where I can get the same corrigated plastic panelling that the tire hump is made from, apply thin matching carpet over it. Then create holes to match the pull pins for a factory look. If I'm building one, and it turns out well, anyone else interested in a replacement tire hump panel too?

I never seen it done. i think it would be possible. But a sub firing right into the convertible mechanism IMO isn't such a great idea. It's rattle city in there, and it will diminish the short life span of your top. Not to mentin the tight fit. You could have the sub firing towards the back of the car, interesting idea. Not an easy solution, but it could be done.

I looked at the situation some more and thought about having a port made to fire it to the vent slot on the passinger side. Kind of like the Bose subs scenerio. I would have to do lots trial and errors on that. WillieGee you're right on the up firing into the convert top. I may have to try an enclosed down firing scheme. I will post pix when I assemble that sucker.

Yeah... it's possible! Not the same thing, but you'd be amazed what can be done! That's m777erlin's car.

That is the craziest system that I have seen yet. What kind of amps are those? Audiobahn. And are my eyes deceiving me but is there also three of them? I can only imagine the rattle from the trunk... Hell the whole car probably bounces!

The craziest hair cut too. I wonder what kinds of products he's running for that thing.

That's m777erlin's car. He has been featured in many magazines. Two amps and a processor, I believe. Three 10's. He's s/c'd... so the weight problem isn't so much a problem!
