Anyone have pics or diagram of where the chip is on the valet key?

Yes, there is a chip in it. It's in the plastic. I haven't seen it myself, but I've seen videos on youtube of other keys like it.
On the AP2 the key isn't any fatter. It is keyed differently. The ignition and doors are set to take two keys, the regular and valet. The glove box and trunk are set to only take the regular key.
On other cars, like the Honda Civic, they valet key is indeed fatter. Perhaps this wasn't done this way on the AP2 because it uses "Laser Cut" keys. I have no clue about the AP1.
