Anyone have a trunk-mounted equalizer?
If you have swapped out your stock head unit, chances are you don't have a separate equalizer.
But, if you have one anyway for whatever reason, please share your experience.
Thanks
the audio control pieces mentioned above can enhance and correct the peaks and valleys that any car has, this is the only way to correctlye "tune" and system, your head unit cant come close to what these can do!
if you just want to tune the sound to the way you like it, then the two devices you mentioned would work.
However, what they are missing is time alignment, which brings huge improvements. You might want to just purchase a higher end Eclipse or Alpine hu that can works with PXA-H100 so that you can have both time alignment and Parametric/Graphic equalizer. With the tuning kit, the PXA automatically measures and adjusts the equalizer as well, and has much more adjustment points when it does auto correction.
I don't recommand EQX unless you are integrating an aftermarket system to the stock HU, but it is still a very good and solid piece. The DQX has everything but time alignment, but I'd rather spend that kind of money on a good HU or HU+Processor combo instead.
