Sound System ?
hi guys. i've heard a few things with regards to the head unit, and i'm wondering if you could tell me which one is right. i am looking to upgrade my deck, but still want to be able to use the controls on the left panel. some peeps have said it will still be used, while others have said it cannot be. can someone tell me for sure if it can or not? thanks. oh and by the way, what's a good setup for our car?
You sure can use the side controls with a new head unit. First you must buy a head unit that contains a wireless remote and then buy a PAC-SWIX unit. This unit has infrared eye that can allow you to program the controls on the left side of the car to whatever you like.
Two of the board sponsors supplie these -- Lucid and Qube
I personally have a Kenwood MP3 headunit. A lot of people around here use alpine and sony also. Seriously, a new set of component speakers and headunit go a long way to better sound in this car.
Make sure to check out the audio section on this board for better help too.

From my own askings...Alpine, Clarion, Eclipse, Kenwood, Panasonic, Pioneer (and Premier)...
Not saying those are right, just that they're the responses you'll see most
And if you do decide to go the PAC SWI-X route, click in my sig as I've got a new, uninstalled one for sale...
