Default Anyone here know if the Eclipse CD5000/7000

I am very close to buying one of these decks but I am not sure if the deck will clear the door. The way that the faceplate slides down is the problem. If anyone has this deck in there S please let me know if there is any problems at all. Thanks!

They should both fit. Be sure to mount them as high up on the install brackets as possible.

My Eclipse was not mounted this way initially, and I had clearance issues. Some encouragement from darknight and a screw driver fixed everything.

I have the 8445. The front face plate slides down, and flattens out.

FWIW, the controls don't work in this position. The screen also washes out more when like this.

I think the CD7000 has a different display. The CD5000 has the 8V out. I was seduced by the 8V. In retrospect, I'd go for the better display.

You may want to see if you can see the decks installed in another car to judge the display. Remember, an S2000 is probably 10X brighter due to the convertible than a tin top.

Are you positive that the way the screen folds down is the same? On the 5000/7000 is slides down kind of at an angle. The bottom of the face probably ends up about 3/4" below the bottom of the deck. I just want to make sure before I buy it. Anyone you can take a picture of yours and send it to me? Thanks!
