I searched the forums and didn't see anything regarding this.

I'm looking at installing a Pioneer Premier Series DEH-P700BT
HU in my S and some people have mentioned that this HU
(along with many others) has a flip down face plate to allow
the insertion of cds.

Does anyone know if this is truly an issue in the S, specifically
with the Pioneer Premier HU's? Does the faceplate fold down
far enough to allow the insertion and removal of CD's?

 

I installed a deh-p600ub the other night. The flip down is fine. It's not hinged at the very bottom. The face moves forward, then it rotates backwards so it's facing up.

The pioneers seem to have auto-remove-face-on-car-power-off turned on by default. You'll have to disable that, of course.

I know with my Eclipse the faceplate would just barely catch...

Easy fix was to just push up on the front bottom of the deck while screwing it in to raise the front a few mm to clear...lol
