anyone installed DLS UP6i's/system install q's?
I plan to install my DLS UP6i's along with a JL 300/2 amp.
I have an 01 AP1, but I have 08 door panels. I'd like to install the tweeters in the factory location, however the DLS tweeters have a non removable grill.
Has anyone been able to install these in the factory location? I'd love to hear about how to get it done, because I anticipate it causing trouble/requiring some custom work.
What is the best location inside the cabin to mount the crossovers?
Also, I plan to run this setup with a stock head unit. Will quality suffer because of this? Should I consider an aftermarket head unit to improve sound quality?
Lastly, has anyone had any over heating issues (or hot legs) mounting an amp under the drivers seat? Any suggestions in terms of the best way to mount the amp without drilling into the car? Thanks!
