Yeah, I have the sub output at +15, anything less than that and you cant hear the sub. I came up with that determination after the fact, that the sub was not good for the amp. That is my fault, I should of done more research before making the purchase, lesson learned. Expensive lesson at that. Everyone raves about the 8 inch Elemental Designs, how about their 10 inch subs. Right now I am leaning towards the Alphasonik psw810, but I want to explore all my options. I looked at the JL audio 10 w 7, but I do not want to spend that much money on a sub. The 12 inch kicker solobaric is just too damm boomy and rattling the enamel off my teeth at higher volumes.

Do you mean, "For maximum sub output be sure to dial the sub output level to +15?"

If you have enough bass at "lower" dial levels you will gain adjustability of bass by not having it pegged at "15". For that reason isn't it better to tune based on lower to middle subwoofer "level" on the HU? Otherwise you have nowhere to go...

I have read a couple of sources that measure the peak sub signal level at 2V MAX for modern Alpines, vs. the 4V mains, so it starts out a bit handicapped. It does seem though that it would be ideal to tune the amp for that signal while preserving the ability to adjust sub level through the HU.

Personally I like to have that one-touch adjustability of sub level. I routinely listen to my Alpine 9833 at "0" to "5" Subwoofer levels, higher when the music or speed requires.

Well, went ahead and ordered the PSW 810 from Online car stereo. Only place I could find it. Now its time to sit and wait for it to arrive. In the meantime I will post pictures of the box being made for the 10. Its a tool well box, about .60 sq feet, sealed using 3/4 inch mdf. Will post pictures later on in the afternoon. Have to thank Jim for the pictures of his box which inspired mine.

Im glad you like it. Ive used this terminal for years. Dont forget to take out those gold "Z" bridgers. You wont be using them. Just unscrew all the terminals, and they come right off. Also...why you install it into the box, make sure you silicone FROM THE INSIDE the screw holes that will result after mounting this beast!

I want to truly thanks Dave and Jim for recommending the PSW 810. Its exactly what I was looking for. Just the perfect amount of bass, nice clean and crisp, and very very tight and accurate. I love it. And if I want to, I can crank it up and shake the whole neighborhood too, its got the ability to do that, if you like that type of thing. Just need to work out a two little rattles in the trunk, the plastic locking mechanism and the convertible well. Thanks for everyone who helped me out. This forum is invaluable!!!!!!! Pictures to come later tonight!!! Stay tuned.
