Gain was set low as well as bass boost and the x-over was set iirc to 100 hertz. When I set it up was the only time I turned it up high and came to those settings on the amp. When it over heated I was driving home listening at a pretty normal level and there was no distortion.

This is the first time I have ever used a line level input and not rca's from the head-unit. This install is actually in my Tundra not my S2K and the factory nav/screen/stereo unit is really nice so I didnt replace it with aftermarket. I tapped into the speaker wire harness that goes to the factory sub with the line out converter. I had it lying around for years earlier with no packaging or instructions. There are 2 screws for some sort of adjustement on it, I wonder if that is the culprit.

Possibly? Pictures? Gain being high or low is irrelevant if you don't know input voltage.

It is a Peripheral SVEN2. The harness to the factory sub just has 1+ and 1- wire. On the SVEN I attached left and right - to the - factory wire and same for the +. So the 1 factory into 2 on the SVEN. I am not sure what the left and right dials are for. The SVEN has a ground in and a ground out wire, I did not hook that up.
