I was thinking about adding this powered subwoofer to my system and putting it under the seat. Anyone heard it before or know anything about it?

Thanks.

The dimensions are 13" x 9" x 2 7/8".

Doesnt seem like it would really be worth the money fir the sound you will get, but if it works....

J&J,

I am very interested in knowing how this works out. First, the dimension sounds like doable. You are going to put it under the passenger seat, aren't you? I once had an amp of 7 x 10 x 2.25 inches there. The height may prevent it from sliding all the way in and show a part of it visible.

Do you know what is the power supply to this unit? Does it require a tap to the battery like other amps? Does it need power-on ("remote-on") feed from the head unit?

Of course, most importantly, how would this sound? Are you using the stock HU and speakers? Any other upgrades in addition to this? I added component speakers on rear, replaced HU and stock speakers plus tweeters on the door (MY2001) driven by two amps, etc. I am looking for a sub but have been waiting for a solution without putting it the trunk.

Regards,
JL

Could this fit in the spare tire well? If so, I think it'd be worth it. I don't think it'll fit under the seat very well, but for $180, seems to be worth a try.

I am second guessing this sub now. For the price I can pick up the Infinity Bass Link System on Ebay. I would bet that a 10" sub is going to give me more bass response. However, I also found a Kenwood powered subwoofer on Crutchfield (KSC-WA62RC). I can't decide anymore - all three are around the $200 price range and are pretty simple installs. Just can't decide.

Also I am not sure if this will fit under the seat. Still measuring.

And I already replaced my speakers and tweeters with MB Quart components and a 60w X 2 channel at 4 ohm amp.

I know you've probably decided already, but I've just found this thread.

I have this Clarion active sub installed under my passenger seat - if fits no probs at all, although obviously you can't slide the seat back and forth anymore.
I just wired it into the supply to the standard head unit, and it was a bit tricky to find the correct wires to splice into, but this site helped me determine which ones, making it straight forward in the end.

If you're after a street shaking "I'm coming - get out of the way" kind of bass, IMO you're better off putting a larger sub in the boot.
I just wanted a tune up for the standard system - and for the money I think this is actually extremely good value.
Sounds excellent INSIDE the car even at motorway speeds, but not too loud outside.

Just my humble opinion - thought it might help.

Good luck!
