Default O.K., I think I've decided....

Instead of going crazy with sub and rear speaker mods, I think I've decided to pour my cash into upgrading so I can have an "invisible" install in my 2002.

I think I'm going with:

Eclipse CD3432 Head unit with remote (to replace my lost buttons)
Eclipse 36201 2/1 channel Power amplifier (enough power at 40 watts RMS cont. at 4 ohms?)
Focal Utopia 165 W

Has anyone had any problems with these installs fitting, etc.? Will the amp fit under the seat (it's 15.75" x 2.04" x 10.82")?

The installer here in Little Rock seems to think it will all fit fine and dandy. Should sound pretty awesome.

Oh, they bid $1840.00 labor and materials, but minus tax. Not too bad, I'd say.

Thanks in advance,

David

I don''t know how much Eclipse components cost, but CRIMINEY!

There's no way an amp that large is going to fit under the seat, and any installer who says it will has obviously never worked on an S2000. Our cars aren't like others in that you have a flat floor under the seat...there are bumps for reinforcing bars and the transmission tunnerl to contend with, on top of which you have a seat that site really low to the floor.

If you want to keep the dash controls, consider getting an SWI-X from Pacific Audio Access. (http://www.go2pac.com) These IR repeaters can be picked up for around $50-$60 at your local Circuit City, Tweeter, etc.

Thats a really big footprint for its output.

Autotek, Audiobahn, Alpine, and Visonik have good offerings for amps take a look at those.

You have 3 options for your dash controls:

SWI-X Works with most IF decks
Alpine Steering wheel adapter - needs Euro compatible deck (I have them in stock)
Sony DCU - for sony decks w/wired remote input
