This is the headunit I have in mine and I love it. I would also recommend Alpine, they make nice units as well. -- http://www.blaupunktusa.com/receivers/rece...01_pasadena.asp

It's 9815. You can run like 3 amps, I think

It's also MP3 and Windows configurable

Do you mean it will play a cd burned full of MP3 files? I had an Aiwa head unit that did that in my del Sol, but it didn't have any skip protection. With a lowered del Sol, it wasn't as bad as you might think, but I'd like to have one with some sort of skip protection (10 secs or what not)...

I have an Alpine 9815 also. Picked it up from EBAY for 380 or something like that. It works and sounds great, although all the sound adjustments can get confusing. And yes, it will read MP3 and WMA files. My car is lowered 2" and I have never had any trouble with it skipping. Been using it for about a month now. I highly recommend it.

Just got this over the weekend Sony CDX -M850MP.

Coolest feature is this:

DSO -- Proprietary circuitry induces subtle phase shift in the preamp output of the head unit, different in each output channel, to simulate a sound source that is higher in origin. The frequency response in a section of the sound is altered, to further enhance the perception that the sound is originating from a physically higher source. These two factors, combine to seemingly raise the sound stage, and spread it wider across the dash, even if the speakers are mounted low in the doors.

No idea, just copied it from Sony's site. It sure sounds better though.
