Anyone w/ hookups on Eclipse?
Tell me what model you want - we sell tons of Eclipse double din decks so might be able to help you out.
Just got a AVN5495 in my s2k and now thinking about swapping it for the AVN6600 just to get a better Ipod interface but lose the harddrive.

Let me ask if the 5500 has been released yet since we have not sold those just yet. The 5435 is the older Eclipse model so might be able to find you a killer deal on one of those.
Let me ask around....
Only downfall to the 5435 is that you don't have Ipod interface if you use the CD changer input and you can only watch DVD if you pull the NAV disk out which renders the NAV non-operational while movie watching.

What do you mean about this "you can only watch DVD if you pull the NAV disk out which renders the NAV non-operational while movie watching."?
Im not a techie, so Im not sure what it means. The 5435 would work for me as long as I can watch a DVD or view the nav while driving.

Oh...I got ya. I thought that you could watch the DVD while the Nav was on?! I guess that's not that big of a deal for me either. Hook it up with a killer deal on the 5435 and I will be forever grateful!

Yo Ryan,
Yes the 5435 has 2 slots when you flip down the face. The upper one is a CD player only. The lower slot is a DVD/NAV disk slot. So if you play DVD's you won't have access to the NAV and if you are using the NAV disk, then you can't play DVD's.
On the 5495, there is only one slot that plays both DVD and CD's. The NAV is built into the 30gb internal harddrive so no disk is needed.
For the new 5500, I "think" it has a dual layer dvd slot up top so this unit still has 2 slots like the 5435 but the upper one can play both DVD and CD's thus you can leave the disk in the lower slot all the time. Don't quote me on it since we have not seen that deck but it's what my understanding.
Their Ipod adapter only works on the AVN6600 for interface.
I have pics of all these decks in action except the 5500 so let me know if you want me to email u some pics - too lazy to post them.
btw would you be interested in a "used" 5435 deck?
