audiobahn 25mm silk dome tweeters
just won the bid on ubid.com for $30 shipped. not bad, i thought. i know one of us replaced '02 tweeters with a set of audiobahn and liked them a lot. anyone else got these tweeters? i will let you know how they sound as soon as i get them.
I'm using a set and they are simply AMAZING. Another cool thing, is if you have an '02 S2K, you can make 'em fit really easy::
Remove old tweater housing, remove older tweaters from housing. Use a Dremel tool to slightly grind the left and right side of the tweater so it'll fit down where the stock ones were (they are SLIGHTLY too large because of the screw posts on the stock door housing, but you can safely grind some of the plastic away from the speaker housing). I then modified the stock bracket slightly, and used a little hot-glue....screwed it down.
I believe it comes with external 'crossovers' (eg. The capasitor is external) and you need to hot-glue that to the internal of the door.
ALSO, to remove the old stock bracket-- you'll need a fine/thin flat head screwdriver as they are glued to the back of the stock tweater.
Finally-- Install one side and fade left/right and just listen to the difference. It'll down right shock you.
Send me a PM if you have questions or problems-- I am installing a new head unit this weekend and could take some door photo's if you get stuck.

Thanks for the "hot tip" on these at ubid a few weeks ago!
I bought the 25mm titanium tweeters for $30.
And, I'll try to install them this weekend.
A few questions. Do the tweeter housings come off the
door panel or do I need to remove the entire door panel?
What's the best way to remove the door panel?
Thanks again!

Here's the steps:
1) Remove the stock tweeters and back plate.
2) Remove back plate from stock tweeter (its glued on)
3) Move the metal cover from the Audiobahn speakers.
4) Using a dremel (After marking the location) lightly grind the edges of the plastic of the audiobahn tweeters so they will slide down (The stock mounting points will be in the way otherwise, you will see)
5) Break off part of the stock metal plate (you'll see what to break off)...
6) Install stock metal plate to hold tweeters in place
7) [recommended, not required] hot-glue the audiobahn speakers in place-- a few hot-glue points should be enough.
8) Hot-Glue the cross-overs (supplied with tweeters) to the door.
9) Trim the excess write, and connect.
10) Enjoy the kick-ass sound.
