-AVI Sound vs Focal- the component hunt continues
I heard a set of AVI Sound 6.5 Components (XL-160 Mids , HF-25D Tweeters) yesterday and I was pretty impressed. So far they are the best components I have listened to ,however, I do not know how reputable AVI sound is. A guy at the store said they come stock in new Ferarri's...which isnt really that big of a sales point to me. Any have any expirience/advice they wants to share?
AVI speakers sound pretty good. before you buy them though, i would try to listen to them in a car and not a sound wall. Speakers, in a car will sound dramatically different due to reflections and premature wavelength dispersion.
i have never owned a set, so my experience is limited, but i hear a lot good things about them.

I'm not very knowledgeable about components and I have a question.
I bought MB Quart QSD216 components for the front and QSD213 for the rear.
Have you listened to these MBQs, and what is your opinion of them?
Just curious how they stack up.

Pete,
Back in 2003, I bought the MB Quart RCE216 speakers for my front; I have no rears. I personally liked how they sounded over the then current Focals, not that the Focals were bad. If there is one thing I have learned over the past few years in audio, whether car or home, the speakers are the most subjective part of the system.
SeabringDemon is 100% correct; anyone thinking of buying speakers should try them out before buying, if at all possible, or hear them in a real car environment.
