Bump. About to order my speaker components and want to know if I should or need to get the 1" Alpine tweeters to go with the SPS-510. Thanks.

The crutchfield website, plays it very safe as far as fitment - basically whatever will screw in doing nothing more. The SPS-610 will screw in perfectly, but you need to modify the speaker basket just a bit. I am running these right now to an Alpine deck, and honestly on the highway top down its not that great. I am looking into getting an amp as Ive heard this will make any speaker really come alive, since most factory decks are only pushing max 20w rms where as a decent 6.5 can handle 60w+.

Thanks. As I said, I'd like to keep it plug-and-play for these reasons:

- The power output of the Alpine HU I've chosen matches with the power output of the SPS-510
- Easy for the shop to install

I read an DIY install guide and it seems there is an opportunity to upgrade the tweeters too. Just want to know if the SPS-110TW fit the bill.

I have the older Kenwood KDC-X995 in my Jeep but I'm looking to get the newer KDC-BT952HD in my S2000. I HATE that we have single-dins but of the singles, the Kenwoods have lots of features for the price, all inclusive, and good sound quality. The newer KDC-BT952HD is probably about $210. One of my favorite features of this stereo is that the CD is behind the screen so that it doesn't waste space on the face. Also has built in HD, no modules needed like many Alpines. The display uses a newer type of "LCD" capable of 5 line readout, not dots and lines to form words. The good part is that the display is quite nice. The bad is that it isn't bright enough to complete with the sun so figure out your remote. Forgot to add... The screen displays tons of color combinations, one feature of which is "inverted". Essentially, this means everything is colored EXCEPT the writing, which I find the be the easiest to read in the sun.

I heard good things about the Polk DB651. You might need a small amp to really get them alive though. As far as headunits go, I'm loving my Sony DSX-S200X.
