Best 5.25" REAR speaker under $150
I want to put a 5-1/4" speakers in my rear panel(Lucid type). Can you guys tell me the BEST sounding speaker(not component) that will fit in the rear without any mods or cutting. Under $150. Thanks guys.
Well, you have to cut the panel (or buy one pre-cut from Lucid). I had a pair of Polk EX speakers in my 01 in Lucid panels with an OEM stereo and they certainly help you hear the tunes top-down at speed. Since they are firing into the backs of both seats, I am not sure ANY speaker is going to sound good there. So just get something with high efficiency (92db or more) and inexpensive. Don't get to too large a magnet assembly or too deep a speaker at it should be OK.

Do some research. IF you are running off the stock HU, or any HU for that matter, and not an external amp, you will want a sensitivity rating of 90+. Also check the xmax for the woofer...this should be a good indicator of how much bass they can handle without getting all crazy on you. Higher xmax generally means more bass, as the woofer will be displacing more air. Check out www.crutchfield.com , they usually have some sort of special running. Also check www.cardomain.com , they are also a good site, and rather cheap too.
