I'm going to install an alarm in the very near future, but am having the hardest time trying to decide where I want to locate the LED for it. I know the stock location is near the handbrake, but I'd like to find a location that looks a little less out-of-place. I haven't seen the LED in this location in person though, so maybe it won't be as bad as my mental image appears. I've thought about the a-pillar, but that's smooth black plastic, and to just stick an LED on there somewhere would look out of place (I think). I've thought about various locations of the dash, around the radio door somewhere, in btwn the hazard and roof switch, and many other locations. Anyone have any unique mounting locations? Better yet, does anyone have any photos of their LED location? Thanks.

Yes, the '04 dash would be nice for the LED. oh well

i've got mine in the middle of the plastic piece between the steering wheel and instrument cluster. it's so tiny that it's not even noticeable, unless it blinks in the dark. i'll post pics when i get a chance.

I put mine in both A-pillars. Used blue LEDs. At night you can't miss 'em, lights up the whole car. Actually a really cool effect. During the day, they can be kinda hard to see at times. But they work and i like 'em.

I will not post pics, though.

We know, j/k

I have mine at the base of the a-pillar trim facing the windshield. I want it to be visable to any would be theif when it's armed.

DK, I just saw someone mount the LEDs inside their headlights for the FIRST time today. What a weird conicidence. It looked very goofy. I would not do it on an S2k with the HIDs

(BTW -- I realize you were kidding, I just wanted to add in my $0.02 in case someone actually considered it.)

^ yeah,.. I was just kidding around I hope no one would try that... but then again... as you said you saw it so I guess that drives home the point rather well, that it shouldn't be done

These are some pretty good ideas. Some of which I hadn't thought of yet. Thanks everyone!

I put mine in the unused switch cover on the right side of the wheel (similar to Cruise Control switch, but other side)...I could do this because I have a MY2000 and no switches are there.

I suggest using a red AND blue LED...red shows up well during the daytime, and blue shows up better during the nighttime. Put them in different places so it doesn't look wierd.
