Default Best place under hood to grab 12v+?

Is there any good location to grab the 12v+ for Ignition (when key is turned on)?

Figured I'd ask before we run wiring through the firewall.

thanks

well I'm guessing you mean grabbing power under the dash and not under the hood...since you don't want to go through the firewall

in that case a search will be your best friend...but the fuse box under the dash on the driver's side is where you'll be able to grab switched or unswitched power

Try the underhood fuse box, check with a multimeter. All kinds of stuff that doesn't get power till ignition is on. Don't know offhand, and my battery is disconnected along with the underdash harness, so I couldn't check it out for you or I would.

ETA: Granted a lot of that stuff may have constant power and the relays aren't allowed to activate till the ignition key is on, so it might be a dead end, but it's worth a shot.
