Anyone have a suggestion on where to order a Focal 5WS sub from at the best price? WoofersEtc has them for $140, but they are in LA so I'd probably pay sales tax too. Soundomain doesn't carry Focal...

DUDE let me emphasize get them from a authorized dealer. I'm looking for the same speakers to use in the spods.

 

I am a real fan of focal utopia's i've gone through 2 sets in the S.

 

Cool! I have the 165w's up front, looking for 136 w's for the spods. How have you gone through 2 sets? What happened, what did you lose?

I have the 165W's also I've blown 2 of the 6.5" drivers and my helix amp sent a 12V signal to one of my tweeters and blew it.

The Helix is getting exchanged for a new one and I just bought the 3 way dynaudio set.

Its going to be the 7" in the Door, the tweeters in the OEM location on the door panel....the 5" midrange is going on custom pods by the footwell and the 5Ws's are going into Spods.

Also my head unit is a premier P9 with the processor.

 

From what I was reading the 5ws has to be in a bass reflex (ported) enclosure.

 

Designed to be, not has to be:

"The 5WS is a true subwoofer. The 5WS is designed to be in a vented enclosure, .3 cubic feet per driver. With a 1 inch diameter and 3 inch length port, the 5WS is tuned to play down to 38 Hertz."

When not in this enclosure, it does down to 45hz.

Are you sure you want to put the 5ws in your spods? What about midrange? Since it doesn't cover the mid region like the 136w's driver, won't you have a huge gap?

Do you mean 6.5" not 7" in the door?
