Some people have suggested that Blaupunkt is discontinuing these because of reliability issues. I found one at Frye's for $70, which was a very good deal, and installed it to run my 10" sub.
I installed it in the passenger foot well and even added a 12v fan to circulate the air since it was a small space and the floor area does get pretty warm. But that's what these amps are advertised for - small spaces where their supposed cooler operation allows them to keep from overheating.
It fried last week, after only a few months of service. I am not a bass hog so I doubt I ran it anywhere near maximum output.
I am dissapointed that it gave up so soon - I've had a Kenwood 4x50 amp over the gas tank, pressed up against the rear shelf (no air flow) for two years with no problems.

If it can perform reliably, I'd rather have a small amplifier than a big amplifier.
