Default Bose Richbass

I was wondering if Bose's Richbass, the spare tire subwoofer that can be found in the RSX, is available after market? Or can you only get it if you buy an RSX?

IMO for the money, you can get a MUCH better quality sub than what bose has to offer. Although it's nice that it sits in the tire or whatever, take a look at JL Audio's stealthbox or Lucid's box before you buy the Bose. I'm sure either of those options will make you change your mind.

I had an RSX, and that thing is a total piece of junk. Not even wroth thinking about. If you really want one, go over to clubrsx.com and post a WTB ad in the 'For Sale' forum.

the Bose Richbass is a piece of crap..totaly not worth buying unless you can either
A) get it for free from a buddy
B) get if for a dirt cheap price
It does give more bass than the stock s2k speakers obviously..but its not as good as say a 10" woofer....

Pulled this off Club RSX forum. Many say they are impressed with the bass after this fix.

Here is the solution for the problem with the Subwoofer.

What you do is take the subwoofer out of the car and loosen the 6 screws. inside you will see the 5" subwoofer (what a joke) and the matchbook size 100W amplifier (100W ! not!!)

Swap the Yellow and Purple wires. However you want to do this is up to you, butt splices etc. I just removed the two wires from the connector to the amp & switched them. Nice and clean.

Now this makes a HUGE difference in the bass output (probably 10x more bass).

Whats going on is acura must have screwed up the wiring harness and the low level input to the amp is out of phase. So you could switch the input wires instead but just switching those two at the plug is easier. I suspect the TSB or recall on this will just be a plug that switches it before it enters the Sub box.

Yeah. I did the wire swap fix on mine when I had it -- you could tell a difference, but any aftermarket 5.25 or 6.5 componant set will produce more bass.
