Default iPod Interface - Alpine eX-10

I'm looking to get my iPod hooked up for a forthcoming trip to the Le Mans Classic.

I'm not seeking the finest audio solution as it's pretty pointless in a roadster IMHO - so I'm looking for a convenient and easy option to get the iPod into the S.

The Alpine iPod dedicated head unit looks OK but I seem to recall some issues with its big knob causing problems with the flap (ooo... errr). The Alpine eX-10 looks to be a way of getting the easy to use interface, albeit with an FM 'connection'.

Does anyone have experience of the Alpine eX-10 thingamabob or the Alpine head unit with the big knob?

get the best of both worlds with the alpine 9887 and ipod fullspeed! Thats what i have and it works just great, plus no dodgy fm transmitters to worry about. Nice.

Don't know where you got this information from, I've had both the iDA X001 and have the iDA X100 and neither had this big knob not fitting problem you speak of. The door closes just fine and I'm sure there's a few folk on their way to say the same thing .

FM transmitters are crap, I've had a few and all of them bar none produced relatively poor quality audio.

I'd buy an iDA X200 or X100.

Definitely worth buying the full speed ipod cable as well, the USB cable is fine but not brilliant
