Default A/C Condensation Leaking into CD Player

Just curious if anyone else had a similar problem to me. I found that when the AC is on the convertible setting (so that it exits the vents right above the radio), there seems to be water leakage inside the player itself. I don't know if theres a fix for this, but I worry that my CD player will be damaged. It stopped working yesterday (turned on but there was no volume)...it started working again today.

Wow, that sucks. Is it really humid in your part of the country? Might try removing the radio and applying some pipe wrap tape on top of it, but be careful, as this could lead to heat build up in the radio itself.

Check your freon too (or have a shop do it if your not sure what to check or how to check). When your freon is low, you will develop more condensation inside the vents. Maybe you have seen the "mist coming from your vents" effect. That would be condensation. You may have a leak, and it may be just about to fail.

I would find out why its doing this, you don't need water inside your dash, or leaking onto your electronics.

I live in NYC but have been driving through Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, etc. So yes, quite humid!

I have seen the mist coming from the vents. I replaced the cabin air filter about two weeks ago, and it seems that the A/C has been blowing very cold (which is great). But since I've been driving a LOT through humid areas (currently on a big road trip), it seems the cold air coupled with the humidity created a lot of condensation on the vents. As soon as I get back, I'll check the freon level.

I know if i drive with the top down and the a/c on i get condensation that drips onto my leg and i suppose under these conditions it could also leak onto the stereo as well.
