Default Can this be done?

I want to mount a sub and amp like on Lucid's site (all in one in the trunk tool well, 10" sub with the amp offset to the side), but I want to cover it with a false floor, also like the one on their site, however, I was wondering about the amp being able to breath. Also about the sub box size at that point, can I go with one of the designs listed on this site, or do I need to modify it somehow to accomodate so that the false floor is flush with the trunk floor adn I maximize the airspace for the sub? Overall, planning on an Alpine MP3 HU, type R components in the doors and S-pods with e Type R 10" sub. I currently have a Coustic 400watt amp I was hoping to utilize. Any feedback?

first -- i always feel i should point out that mounting an amp on the sub enclosure is not the wisest of choices. yes, it is very convienent, but you're then directly linking the amplifier (via screws and hard mounts) to the vibration of the sub. over time, this will very likely damage your amp permanently.

almost any amp will need to breath... so, putting a sealed (or mostly sealed) cover over it will definitely increase your chances of heat problems and thermal shutdown.

you will need to look at the sub options you're considering and then look at the enclosures you're considering. almost all subs will list a recommended sealed enclosure volume. you want to try and match that volume up to the enclosure you have... the best sub in the world will sound terrible if put into the wrong enclosure.

and which of Lucid's sub enclosures are you specifically referring to...

i was looking at the the 10" enclosure I had seen a pic of previously but with the amp offset to on side. Here's a link, but I was going to build the box myself based on one of the pics in the FAQ section that yields the largest volume.

So another question then....If I mount them separately, are there any dimensions that I have to weary of to mount a false floor over the sub for a hidden clean look?
