i went with WLaurent's alarm offering, and i've been quite pleased. it integrates with the factory keyless entry, but does not actually upgrade the factory alarm.
he's on vacation right now (i seem to recall), but should be back w/in the week... his setup comes w/ a motion sensor, shock sensor, alarm, etc. for about $175. it's pre-setup to be fairly easily integrated into the factory keyless entry and reuses the factory remotes.
