Do any car alarms detect your car being cut into?

my proximity sensor detects when someone gets close, it would go off if they started to cut the top

You could run a thin wire all around the top and set it up so that if the wire is cut/split the alarm goes off...

Proximity sensors would be better.

Yes, and make sure you have some lead to reinforce it. Also install a GPS chip so if they (use a method I am not allowed to mention) completely jam and disable your alarm, you have a method of knowing your car has been moved.

Lead is the only proven method to truly deter a thief from comming back.

I like the Viper 5901, but the install is EVERYTHING!! Even though it will only but you enough time to give the sob thief some lead or a nice ass beating. It will NOT prevent the car from being stolen.

I have an Avital on mine with a proximity sensor and the guy has it tuned pretty good that it doesnt go off with heavy rain and thunder but when i went to show Honda my roof i showed them an area on the outside of the roof which i put pressure on with my nail and it went off
