Lightbulb CD CHANGER

does someone know if Honda provides the wire subharness in the KIT to install the 8CD changer in the m.y. 2005 S2000 or is the car already wired and the connector is already there behind the radio?

thanks

You'll get the answer to this one in the "Electronics" forum for sure, I for one, can't tell you.

It's pre-wired! Check out 2004 - 2005 trunk mounted CD changer install instructions!

Be forewarned - it takes up a lot of trunk space for what you get. I ordered one when I first got my S2k but ended up pulling it out once I decided that I needed a better sound system in the car.

I was left with a trunk liner that had been chopped up for the mounts and a CD changer that only works with the Honda HU sitting on a shelf. I have a new trunk liner piece on order so I don't have to look at the holes in my trunk floor anymore. There are lots better ways to spend your money for sound upgrades in the S2k. $800 can get you a nice head unit, speakers and an iPod interface that plays far more music than the changer.

Hi Psychichi,

Your personal information say's you've got a 2003 model? Are you looking to put the '04-'05 radio in your car?

If so, I think you'll have a problem getting wiring looms you need. I'd be surprised if they were not part of the overall loom that Honda installs on the car during assembly. Getting the part that runs from the radio to the CD changer as a separate unit will probably be very difficult. You might be able to cut the connectors off of a wrecked '04 or '05 model if you can find one and then use them to create your own wiring loom.

One other thing that just came to mind, do you have an '03 CD changer or the '04-'05 CD changer? The pre-'04 CD changers were a 6 CD unit with the '04+ CD changers are an 8 CD unit. I'm not certain they're interchangeable.

Good luck,
Steve R.
