CD problems
Hi folks,
I have had my new ride for a few weeks now and just got around to checking out the cd player. It skips when ever it goes over a expansion joint or shift gears. Some times the sound goes away and does not come back for several minutes.
I have never had a cd player so this type thing is new to me.
Any body got any ideas before I go to the dealer? I have very little warranty left and hate to go there.
If this issue has been addressed please exscuse me cause I am new at this.
Thanks

Quite a few people have reported having this issue with their CD player too. Some have indicated a "cleaner" CD be used to improve the situation. I don't think it will cure the problem. You're best to go back to the dealer and try to get a new HU.
PS. Mine has never skipped even over very bumpy road surfaces and I think the majority of cars are in this catagory.

I never had a problem with mine either (in the 8 months that I used it before installing an aftermarket head), but it shouldn't skip with minor bumps like shifting gears and expansion joints. Ask for a new one.
