Cheap, yet solid, headunit advice
Im looking for a cheap cd player to put in a boat. I want something low end because it's not like I can get great sound quality in a boat, so I don't need anything fancy.
Criteria:
-Will not break or skip from rough water
-Have a decent amount of internal power
Optional Criteria:
-XM Ready, I might want to do satellite in the future. I think it would be cool to have at the lake.
-speed volume adjusting
and I am also biased towards alpine, but I want something at around $100 cause it's not like the boat is a daily driver.
Thanks in advance

also, you'll want to buy a MARINE unit. they are the same as car headunits, except they have some extra coating on the pcb and wiring inside to prevent corrosion. many marine units are identical to car units with the exception of this protection. if you buy a car unit, it may not work after a while. since you are in a freshwater area, the corrosion may be slower, thus you could get away with a car unit, but i'd do it right.
waves are different than bumps in the road; they are less jarring so skipping won't be too much of a problem unless you are going over 20 kts and jumping.
for XM, i would get an external unit as you can move it from car to boat to home. get a receiver with an aux in if possible.

Take a look at the Clarion line of Marine Head Units. They're pretty good and I found one for $159 on the web. They offer all kinds of marine display and remote options. Solid Stuff.
