I'm looking at getting another cluster for my AP1. I think I may get a VGS but I already have another AP1 cluster that has a functioning tach bar. Is this a straight forward swap like a civic cluster swap or are the clusters ECU matched? Can I just swap the other AP1 cluster in or will it require some reflashing? Also what does it take to put an AP2 cluster in the car?

 

Do a quick search. I've seen a thread for installing an AP2 cluster in a AP1.

For AP1 to go to AP2 you will need the harness cut from the AP2. then you need to tap all the wires to attach the cluster.

Not plug and play so the answer is no. AP1 and AP2 clusters have different connectors. But it can be done.

 

Yes Ap1 will swap between diff ap1s, they are not flashed to your specific car
