Default complete ICE n00b here

will replacing just my head unit (not speakers or anything else) give me better quality sound? i want to make my interior look more lively (with a nice looking head unit) and get slightly better sound quality, but when i'm in my S, i could care less about my sound system. it's not like i want a complete ICE system. just wondering if changing the head unit would be good for my purposes.

TIA

and how much can you guys get that new JVC navigation/dvd/color screen head unit thing for? if not that, i can just go for any good quality (relatively cheap) head unit that fits, looks ok, and makes it sound a little better.

Yes. Any decent aftermarket headunit will DRASTICALLY improve your sound quality.
