Like I stated many times before....the only MBQuarts I like are the Q's. I dont like the low line MBs...they seem cheap and not made as well as the Qs.

Go with the perfects, you wont be diappointed.

Dave - that's an amp, not speakers.

for trance, pop, electronica, etc? Kappa Perfects are a good choice, as are the Kicker higher end components and possibly the Alpine higher tier components.

I hope this isn't off topic, but I am also trying to decide between MB Quart PCE-216s or the Infinity Perfect 6.1s. I also plan on amping them. The Quarts have a sensitivity rating of 2 dB and the Infinitys have a sensitivity rating of 90 dB. This seems like a pretty huge difference. Am I missing something here?
yeah, you are missing something here... as am i. no, those numbers don't jive. could that be a misprint or something? where did you see that figure?

~oh and I do plan on listening to them to make the final decision, just trying to educate myself on what all this stuff means.
Almost everyone in the world defines sensitivity as the output in dB of sending the speakers 1 W @ 1 meter.

When MB Quart says a set of components has a sensitivity of 2.0, they mean that it will take 2.0 watts in order to get 90 dB @ 1 meter.

Using the normal definition, the PCE 216s would have a sensitivity of 87 dB

read my short review of the RAA4200 in this thread https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=294324

it performs very very well. depending on your setup, i think it can suit you very well. as long as you dont mind the on/off pop.
Okay, so now I have my components and deck nailed down. I'm not sure which review was yours but I would use the same setup as a couple of others. I would just use the amp to run my infiniti components and my one 10 inch sub. I don't need something that "hits hard" but just has good rounded sound. I'm thinking either the alpha or the mbquart amps would be good.

A question, where did you mount the mbquart? Hopefully it can be fit into the spare tire area?

generally speaking, find your door speakers and choose based on what your ears like most. CDT components are supposed to be quite good, but i'm unsure on the depth issue for the mains. i'm 99% sure they will fit, but i'm too busy right now to look it up to be sure. the FAQ should cover that.

a set of fronts designed to run @ 100 Wrms and the JL 10W3v2 will work fine w/ that MB Quart amp, and while RF amps aren't the best, they are a far cry from worst and are better than most - that's a darn good price on that power from RF, and it's CEA compliant... plus, given that it makes its theoretical max when bridged, i'll guarantee you that it's at least slightly underrated. i've always liked RF amps for being reasonably priced and solid performers for the money. imo, this is a good deal on one.
the new RF Power amps are great and powerful amps. they do more than double their rated power believe it or not. i know a few people other than myself who own them.

i had a 15004 and still have a 8004. the 15004 is rated at 125x4. benched tested at 4ohms to do 261x4@ 14.4 volts. at 4ohms bridged, it is rated at 500x2 benched at 998x2 @ 14.4 volts. we should have done 2 ohm bridged, but we did not have 2 ohm resistors.

on the 8004 it is rated 50x4. benched at 4 ohms at 127x4 @ 14.4 volts. we did not do bridged testing on this amp.

honestly, these amps are a beast. the only one i question out of the power line is the T4004. it looks to be the same as the punch amps just with power heatsink. the reason i say it looks to be like a punch amp is because of its connectors.

agreed...

the RF Power amps are generally monsters. however, based on price point and features -- i'd be inclined to think the MBQ amp is similar to a Punch design.

and Dave.... fine fine fine... *packs desk* so, when can i start collecting unemployment?
