Default Couple of install questions

I have a couple of install questions:

1. My speakers came with a 1/4" adapter that fits the Honda plastic basket perfectly. If I use them on top of the Honda baskets, will my door panel still fit over them?

2. My headunit, Kenwood X693, came with a usb jack on a long wire so I can put it wherever I want. It also has a 1/8" phone jack on the rear for an aux input. Should I get an extension cable and make the aux jack available too? Will I regret it if I close everything up and bury it?

Thanks for your help.

I only use the USB jack on my KDC-X891 and don't miss having anything else. If there were a way to remove CD and Tuner from my source list so I wouldn't have to cycle through them, I would. I'm not sure if you will end up feeling the same way, but having Sirius + USB stick full of music are all I need.

P.S. I ran the USB cable out to the passenger side and keep the USB stick in the cargo net on the center console.

spacers made from 5/8" MDF work fine, so if the speaker basket + the 1/4"
adapter ring are in that vicinity, it should work. If the baskets are much
greater than 3/8" then I would worry.

The door panels will allow up to a 1" spacer. Granted, using a 1" spacer requires shaving the back of the door panel speaker grill, but it is doable (and looks completely stock).
