Default crappy JVC nx5000

Hey guys i just got the JVC navigation NX5000 in my car about 3 days ago. One of the guys in my Roadshop at circuit city did it for me for cheap. Its been working fine up until today. The nav has been wayyyyyyyyy off from my real location. Also the speedo on the navigation is way off also. Its usually 30 mpg over what im really doing. It was fine for the first two days when i had it and today it just went way off all of a sudden.

I checked all the wires and they are hooked up correctly. I called jvc and they sent me the update for the headunit but i checked and its the most up to date version on it already.

Im stumped guys..... Any ideas? i could take this in to JVC but i dont feel like like losing a headunit for 2 months.

Sounds like a speed sense wire problem. Where did they tap into? In my experience, if you go to close to the trans, the speed pulse is to high. I got mine from the convertible top wire under the passenger airbag.

i agree. Check this. They probably tapped into the wrong wire. Make sure to re-calibrate the unit afterwards too...

Take it back to the guy who did it. Maybe he can diagnose the problem easier since he was the one who installed it.

Mine must not be working correctly either, i had no idea it could keep track of how fuel efficient my s2k is

anywho, my recommendation is to pull the plug, reset, and rewire the unit...to be perfectly honest, there was a period where mine had a great deal of lag as well, but now its fine
