Default A little DSI help please?

My only problem is that my volume does not adjust when i accelerate/decelerate.
My concern is, I cut the vehicle speed wire from the top modual to do the "top down mod". So i simply connect the gray wire (labeled the VSS wire on the DCI) to the cut section coming from the speed sensor, not the top modual. This should still work right?
I know on the version 6.0 you can toggle the option on/off by pressing and holding MODE while pressing CH.
Do i have all my info straight? im going to check my connection one last time, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you got it right, maybe.

Right Part - As long as you connect the DCI to the end of the speed signal wire that is NOT connected to the Convertible Top module you should be good to go.

Maybe Part - The MODE+CH combo will toggle the auto-volume feature ON and OFF for most versions of the DCI (all IR and the Alpine Wired). But the Sony and Pioneer wired DCI's use a different method to adjust the volume feature. You hold one of the dash switches before turning the ignition ON then release 3 seconds later. The Volume Down switch turns the auto-volume feature OFF, and sometimes users will turn the volume down immediately after turning on the car and sometmes the timing is just right to trigger the DCI into thinking you want to turn off the auto-volume. So if you have a Sony or Pioneer wired DCI try holding the CH button next time you turn the ignition ON and see what it does.
