Default Custom Sub Enclosure

I just wanted everyone to know that I found this guy who works for an incredibly clean car stereo place in NJ and he's going to build me a custom sub box for my new S2K. He gave me some rough specs..........fiberglass enclosure which will be molded to fit perfectly into the trunk well as well as color accents around the edge of the box to match the color of my S2K. What I couldn't believe is that he said he could do all this for under $200.00.! I thought this sounded very reasonable.

I'm going to have a few pics posted in the next few days to see what my fellow S2K owners think.

He told me that if anyone else is interested that he'd be able to crank em' out ASAP.

That is a fabulous price, but the enclosures will need to be custom made for the subwoofer configurations of each customer. I hope everyone makes a note of that before they jump onto the bandwagon.

Thanks for the input...

I just asked him about the size of the enclosure, and he said that as long as he knew which sub was going to be used, he'd be able to make the appropriate size hole for the sub.

All he would need is the brand and model number of the sub Or the dimensions of the sub and he'd take care of the rest.

If you have any other questions for him, I'll be glad to pass them along...

JL Audio 10W3 sub. How big will the enclosure be? Do I have to remove my tool tray? I'd prefer the sub to be slightly lower than the top of the well, so I could have a board with a vent on top flush with the trunk level so I can place heavy items on it without worrying about crushing the grill for the sub. Is this for one or two subs?

A 10w3 in a sealed enclosure only requires .75cuf of airspace. Don't forget to subtract the displacement of the speaker though. The speaker has a displacement of +/- .5cuf so you'll need 1.25cuf of airspace in the box. With the 10w3 I would strongly recommend using a pair and putting both into the trunkwell.

He's in NNJ....Passaic County.......probably about an hour or so from you.

I should have pictures this coming weekend of the enclosure. I'm as curious as you are in seeing it.

Thanks
